This class will begin with a brief introduction and Mindfulness practice to get anchored, and then transition into a guided Loving-Kindness (Metta) Meditation. Practice will conclude with a discussion.
Metta (loving-kindness) meditation is an ancient practice cultivating unconditional friendliness, compassion, and warmth towards oneself and others. It can, over time, reduce stress, while improving self-compassion. It can strengthen social relationships, empathy, and feelings of belonging. It measurably increases gray matter in the brain in areas responsible for emotion regulation and raises compassion levels, increasing feelings of contentment and gratitude.
